The datasets advertised on this site are made available to researchers under a system of managed access. As part of the request procedure we ask that everyone provides a short (~200 word) proposal describing how they plan to use the data.
More information about individual datasets can be found on the pages describing specific research projects. Each project has its own page giving background information about the project and the data that were collected. An overview of all projects is also available here. Before requesting any data, please read all available information about the project you are interested in, and develop a clear research hypothesis.
Once you have developed your proposal, please visit the relevant project page and click the button labelled “Request Data”. This will open a page where you can submit your request. The request pages for each project contain a form asking for various personal details (name, contact details, institutional affiliation, etc), as well as your research proposal. The request pages also contain an interface where you can select specific elements of each dataset (for example, specific types of MRI data, or specific behavioural measures), as well as the the terms and conditions under which the data are released. Please only request access to those data that relate to your proposal.
Once you have completed the request form and selected the data you would like to access, click the button labelled “Submit” at the bottom of the form. Your request will then be forwarded to the reviewers for the project you are interested in, who will decide whether or not to accept your application. You will be notified of their decision by email, and, if your application has been successful, you will also receive an email describing how you can download the data.
